Department: Test Development

Purpose of the position: Work as a member of a project team to support the Development Coordinator in the effective and timely execution of K–12 test development and program requirements. Participate in the creation of development schedules, communicate with passage and item writers and reviewers, track assignment submissions, use MetriTech’s proprietary development software, review test and program materials as needed, track progress of select portions of the project, and facilitate completion of project deadlines and goals.
Monitor, and report on, the completion of various steps, activities, and products essential to the development and production of both stand-alone field test forms and operational test forms.
Under the direction and guidance of the Development Coordinator:
- Create a detailed item development and review schedule
- Communicate with item writers and content reviewers
- Assist with the production of training documents and PowerPoint presentations
- Monitor writers’ submission of passage and item sets to ensure on-time delivery
- Review and edit passage sets for passage complexity, word count, content, format, style, and accuracy of facts
- Track accepted passage sets to assist in payment of item writers
- Write and review development documents such as the Style Guide and Passage and Item Writing Guidelines
- Review ancillary test materials
- Attend Test Development team meetings (meetings may be virtual as well as in MetriTech’s Champaign, IL, offices with occasional travel to New York state)
Assist in keeping the Director of Test Development and the ENL Specialist informed of changes to a project or its processes.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong English, grammar, and communications skills, both written and oral
- Ability to accurately manage timelines and large amounts of materials in various stages of completion
- Moderate proofreading and editing skills
- Attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate positively with all members of a project team, including clients, to achieve project goals (e.g., accurate and timely deliverables)
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize, be flexible, and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of projects
- Ability to accept redirection, feedback, and critique of materials produced
- Occasional travel to Champaign, IL, and New York State may be required
- Some K–12 assessment development experience preferred
- Teaching experience and English as a Second/New Language experience a plus

Purpose of the position: Design, develop, and maintain web applications for a variety of users and purposes.
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using a variety of languages and technologies.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations to improve the functionality and performance of web applications.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in web development.
- Ensure that web applications are responsive and accessible across various platforms and devices.
- Implement security measures to protect web applications from cyber threats
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge of software development principles, including object-oriented programming and design patterns
- Strong proficiency and at least 3 years of experience developing web applications using
- At least 2 years of experience in designing and developing web applications and web pages using
- ASP.NET Webforms
- ASP.NET MVC 5. Familiarity with ASP.NET Core is a plus.
- ASP.NET Web APIs
- Bootstrap v3 or later
- MySQL V6 and/or V8
- Entity Framework to map database tables to C# objects
- JQuery library to simplify HTML DOM tree traversal and manipulation
- Experience with
- Fiddler (web debugging proxy)
- Postman (API development and testing)
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
